Highlights

  • Scripture Preparation for Sunday's Message
Read Matthew 1:1-25 in preparation for Sunday's message.
  • Christmas According to Matthew, pt. 1: Matthew 1:1-25
The book of Matthew begins with a long list of names, the genealogy of Jesus Christ. Although many people find genealogies dry & boring, God includes them in the Bible for a purpose. The genealogy of Christ, for example, reveals fulfilled prophecy & God fulfilling His promise to Israel. The genealogy of Christ also gives us hope because it shows that God uses ordinary & flawed people. The line of Christ shows us the awesome grace & mercy of God!

  • Ministry Opportunity
    Blair Ridge Friends,
We were recently contacted by a teacher at Prairie Delta, who we have worked with before. She has a couple of students with significant needs, and they are looking for sponsors to meet these needs and help them have a joyous Christmas.
The young man that we have agreed to sponsor is 15 years old. He has gone through significant home and school transitions this past year, and has serious medical challenges including having a stroke about a year ago. "He is very smart, mild mannered, and a good kid". He loves to read & write, and anything Star Wars related. He is in need of clothing, which you can purchase and donate, or cash donations will be used to shop for him (just be sure to designate it).
    His clothing needs are:
    Sweat/athletic pants (size XL)
    Short sleeve shirts/T-shirts (size 3X)
    Winter hat & gloves
    Underwear & socks (size XL)
Velcro casual or tennis shoes (size 13E)

Please have all donations turned in by Sunday, December 16th, so we have time to get some shopping done for him, and get it delivered.
If you have any questions, please contact Julie Turnis
  • Kids 4 Truth Christmas Store
Kids4Truth will be having a store night in December where they can use their Kids4Truth bucks to buy gifts for their family members. They earn their Kids4Truth bucks by reciting verses. If you have any extra, nice items that you wouldn't mind donating to the store we would appreciate them! You may give these items to Ashley. Thanks!

  • Book Corner: Come, Let Us Adore Him: A Daily Advent Devotional by Paul Tripp
The wonder and awe of the Christmas season can easily get overshadowed by lights, tinsel, bows, and paper―not to mention last-minute trips to the mall and visits to the in-laws. In all the hustle and bustle, we often lose sight of what's most important. This book of daily readings for the month of December by best-selling author Paul David Tripp will help you slow down, prepare your heart, and focus on what matters most: adoring our Savior, Jesus.

  • BRBC Prayer List
Each week we put together a prayer list that is typed up and put in
the bulletin. We hope this will be helpful in knowing how to pray specifically for the needs of those in our church.
If you would like to be added to the prayer list please let Ashley Day know([email protected])!
Please include how we can specifically pray for you.

  • Updated Photos Needed
We'd like to get our online directory updated, so we are requesting submission of recent photos to replace the ones currently in the directory. This is especially needed for the children in our church as many photos are extremely out of date. The photo need not be professional quality but can be a snapshot taken on a good camera or quality cell phone camera. If you need a picture taken, you can contact Renee Palermo and arrange to have a picture taken. Photo submissions can be made through the member section of the website or email them to Bob Mosey or Renee Palermo.
